* Take an inventory of your items

* Use uniformly sized tote/box sizes

* Label totes/boxes on all sides for easy identification

* Wrap things in clear bubble wrap

* Avoid using plastic bags as they may cause mildew

* Seal boxes with packing tape

* Don't store boxes directly on the cement floor

* Use pallets or 2x4's

* Disassemble furniture to save space

* Tape a bag with all hardware to the furniture

* Clean/wipe down and wax furniture

* Wrap pictures & mirrors with cardboard and store on edge

* Leave a small space between the walls and totes/boxes to allow air circulation

* Place heavy/sturdy items on bottom and fragile items on top

* Place frequently needed items near the front of your unit
